The route offers a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in the authentic and stunning beauty of the Finnish archipelago, navigating through a mix of quiet country roads and scenic ferry rides.<\/strong> <strong>We can also ensure you, that your blood pressure will drop the further you come on your way. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Starting from the vibrant city of Turku, your path follows the enchanting <a href=\"https:\/\/visitparainen.fi\/en\/archipelago-trail\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Archipelago<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/visitparainen.fi\/en\/archipelago-trail\/\"> <\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/visitparainen.fi\/en\/archipelago-trail\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Trail<\/a> all the way to Houtsk\u00e4r, mirroring the popular biking route.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The entire route from Turku to Houtsk\u00e4r spans approximately 100 kilometers, depending on the specific trails and detours you take. Even if the distance isn\u2019t that long, due to the ferries it takes around 2,5 to 3 hours by car or buss. And by bike? That depends on you. Our recommendation is that you travel slowly. Stay overnight in Nauvo or Korppoo before you head to Houtsk\u00e4r. Visit local small <a href=\"https:\/\/visitparainen.fi\/en\/cafes\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/visitparainen.fi\/en\/cafes\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">caf\u00e9s<\/a>, shops and other <a href=\"https:\/\/visitparainen.fi\/en\/sights-and-attractions\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/visitparainen.fi\/en\/sights-and-attractions\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">attractions<\/a>. Take a swim or have a picnic along the way. The ferries are part of the experience, offering breathtaking views and a chance to rest. This stretch is about 25 km and can be completed on well-maintained bike paths and roads, offering views of the archipelago&#8217;s lush landscapes and waterways. From Parainen you can follow the popular Archipelago Trail all the way to Houtsk\u00e4r.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>PARAINEN TO NAUVO&nbsp;<br><\/strong>From Parainen, you&#8217;ll head towards Nauvo (Nagu in Swedish). This part of the trip involves the first ferry, which, by the way are all free of charge from Parainen to Houtsk\u00e4r. Head towards Lillm\u00e4l\u00f6, that\u2019s where the ferry from Parainen to Nauvo leaves.&nbsp;<br><br>Once in Nauvo, it\u2019s about 27 km to the next ferry (P\u00e4rn\u00e4s). Don\u2019t forget to stop in Nauvo village, go to the harbour and take a cup of coffee at <br><a href=\"https:\/\/kopmans.fi\/sv\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/kopmans.fi\/sv\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Caf\u00e9 Restaurant K\u00f6pmans<\/a> beautiful garden or at some other place in the village.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>NAUVO TO KORPPOO<br><\/strong>After Nauvo, your journey continues to Korppoo (Korpo in Swedish). You need to find your way to P\u00e4rn\u00e4s ferry, and then drive onboard and enjoy.&nbsp;<br><br>While in Korppoo, drive or bicycle about 7 km, turn then right when you see a big sign saying Houtskari\/Norrskata. You\u2019ll then arrive to Galtby, where the ferries to Houtsk\u00e4r and Ahvenanmaa leave. There is a small caf\u00e9 in Galtby harbour if you are thirsty or need to wait for the following ferry.&nbsp;<br><br>If you have plenty time, don\u2019t turn to Galtby! Drive straight to Korppoo village, visit the beautiful medieval grey stone church, built on the 15th century, say hi to Minna and Tage at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hjalmars.fi\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Hjalmar\u2019s<\/a> or take a coffee at summer <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/p\/Cafe-Simppu-100063749914400\/?locale=fi_FI\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/p\/Cafe-Simppu-100063749914400\/?locale=fi_FI\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Caf\u00e9<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/p\/Cafe-Simppu-100063749914400\/?locale=fi_FI\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/p\/Cafe-Simppu-100063749914400\/?locale=fi_FI\"> <\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/p\/Cafe-Simppu-100063749914400\/?locale=fi_FI\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/p\/Cafe-Simppu-100063749914400\/?locale=fi_FI\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Simppu<\/a> (check the opening hours before).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>KORPPOO TO HOUTK\u00c4R (HOUTSKARI)<br><\/strong>Now the final stretch to Houtsk\u00e4r involves the longest ferry ride (about 25 minutes), after which you&#8217;ll arrive on the island of Houtsk\u00e4r and in Kittuis.&nbsp;<br><br>From the ferry, it&#8217;s about 20 km to Hotel Hyppeis. Look for a sign marked \u201cHYPPEIS&#8221; to turn left. After 6 km, a prominent white house on the left heralds your arrival. There\u2019s a sign Hyppeis v\u00e4rdshus on the left by our drive way. You\u2019ve made it! Welcome to our place! Every time we came out to Houtsk\u00e4r (in our previous life, before we moved here) we used to say that our blood pressure dropped ferry after ferry.
